Our approach to privacy
This site collects the bare minimum data needed to run a reader-facing travel guide. No mailing-list signups, no behavioural advertising, no user-tracking scripts beyond basic analytics.
What we collect
- Page-view analytics: we use Plausible (a privacy-first, cookie-free analytics tool) to count aggregate page views. No personal data is collected. No cookies are dropped. Your browsing is not linked to any identifier.
- Server logs: our hosting provider keeps short-lived request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp, URL) for security and troubleshooting. These are rotated weekly and never associated with any other data.
- Comments: if you leave a comment, we store your name, email (not published), and comment text. Emails are never shared or used for marketing.
What we don’t do
- We don’t use cookies for tracking or advertising
- We don’t sell, share, or broker any reader data
- We don’t embed third-party trackers (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads pixel, no heatmap recorders)
- We don’t require signup or email capture to read any article
Affiliate links
Some external links on this site are affiliate links to booking platforms (Booking.com, Klook, Viator, etc). When you book through these links, the booking platform pays us a small commission at no cost to you. We only include affiliate links to operators we’d recommend anyway, and disclose them in context.
Contact
For questions about what we store or to request removal of any comment data associated with you, use the comment channel on any article. See our Contact page for more detail.
