AIRCRAFT
Buddha Air is the only
airline operating 4 brand new, straight-out-of-the-factory, and
currently in production pressurized aircraft in Nepal. Raytheon
Aircraft Company, USA, manufactures Beech 1900Ds. Buddha Air has
acquired the B1900Ds at the cost of about US$ 5 million each.
The B1900Ds have been modified and upgraded from its
predecessor Beech 1900Cs and first commercially commissioned in March
1992. B1900Ds are the only 19-seater aircraft in the world to meet
FAA's stringent turbine engine rotor burst requirement, the FAR 23,
B1900Ds have all the modern avionics, instruments and airframe
including weather radar and EFIS (semi glass cockpit) that are in a
modern jetliner. The engines PT6A-67Ds are more powerful than its
predecessors and have a service ceiling of 33,000 feet and the single
engine performance of 17,500 feet. B1900D is the chosen 19-seater
aircraft of the American Aircraft Pilot's Association. Beech 1900D
aircraft are equipped with state-of-the-art safety devices like TCAS,
GPWS, RADAR etc. In short, Buddha air safely claims that Beech 1900Ds
provide you better views of Mt. Everest than any other airplane in the
world today.
These aircraft have very wide
seats - similar to those on MD 80 jets. Full pressurization and air
conditioning allow instant optimum cabin temperature. The remarkably
low noise level helps you relax and concentrate more on the views
outside. Full stand-up cabin height and reading lights add to your
comfort.
Mountain Flight
Regular flights are conducted daily from Kathmandu towards the
Himalayan Range in the North and East of Kathmandu. The flight
generally takes off in the morning and lasts for one full hour. This is
the quickest way to get a close look at Mt. Everest, the highest
mountains in the world (pictured above). Other mountains that can be
viewed at close range are Nuptse (7879 M), Lhotse (8501 M), Cho Oyu
(8000M), Makalu (8475 M) and Kanchenjunga (8584 M). Buddha Air operates
SAAB-340 and Dornier-228 aircraft for Mountain Flights. Both aircraft
have large and clear windows and provide superlative sights of the
Great Himalayan Range.

25,000 ft. and shows you the Himalayan Range like never before. The

mountaineering, this is the closest view of Mt. Everest that you'll

photograph the mountain and keep your memories fresh forever. Sharper
and clearer vision of the Himalayan Range is where your money is best

and Jomsom is like a mountain flight itself. Passing between the
spectacular Fish-tail mountain, Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountains, this
