Mt. Chhukung Ri Peak

For those seeking a longer trek through the unparalleled Khumbu,we offer this advenurous loop through the Everest area. We begin in exotic Kathmandu before flying to Lukla, where we begin trekking deep into Sherpa country. We venture up the Dudh Kosi river valley, crossing narrow suspension bridges which sway above the river's thundering rapids, to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar. We then move away from the main trails and head north up to the spectacular glaciers and sacred turquoise lakes of the remote and beautiful Gokyo valley.
 
There we make a non-technicalhike to the top of Gokyo Ri (17,500') which provides us with a unique vantage point for viewing the magnificent north face of Everest, and her sister mountains Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. We then cross into the Khumbu Valley towards Everest base camp, over the daunting Cho La Pass. Our next objective is Kala Pattar, a rocky summit with outstanding views of both Everest and the Khumbu Icefall. We continue down the Khumbu valley through vibrant Sherpa villages and their colorfully decorated stone houses, past beautifully carved mani stones, sacred chortens (always pass on the left) and prayer flags fluttering in the wind. As you make your eastern entrance into the Lhotse Valley, you'll find yourself in the quaint settlement of Chukung. From there you will hike to the top of Chukung Ri (19,000'), a non technical walk up on a well defined trail. The magnificent views of the dramatic South Wall of Lhotse and surrounding Himalayan giants makes this one of the great hikes in the world.

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu & transfer to hotel  

Day 02: Permit preparation day

Day 03: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla & trek to Phakding (2652m)

Day 04: Trek to Na mche Bazaar (3,440m)

Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar & hike around Thame &Khumbu valley

Day 06: Trek to Tyangboche Monastery (3,860m

Day 07: Trek to Dingboche Village (4,410m)

Day 08: Trek to Chhukung (4,730m)

Day 09: Early morning climb Chhukung Ri (5,550m)

Day 10: Trek to Lobuche (4,910m)

Day 11: Early morning trek to Khumbu glacier & hike to EBC (5,364m) & back to Gorakshep (5,140m)

Day 12: Early morning climb Kalapatthar (5,550m) & trek to Lobuche (4,910m) or Pheriche (4,270m)

Day 13: Trek to Phortse Village (3,810m)

Day 14: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Day 15: Trek to Phakding (2,610m)

Day 16: Trek to Lukla

Day 17: Fly Lukla to Kathmandu.   

Day 18: Sightseeing in Kathmandu, Farewell dinner

Day 19: Transfer to Airport for your onward destination
